I feel your pain. FIrst time I tried Ubuntu (8.04), I thought, “Nah, I think I’ll stick to Windows, this system isn’t good enough.” It couldn’t run Sketchup to my satisfaction, just to name one thing.
So I removed the partition from my Hard disk… Can you see the problem coming?
Well, needless to say, I had GRUB issues. This wouldn’t be a problem if I had had the Windows CD, but, oh well.
So, I was basically forced into using Ubuntu, which, in the long run, turned out to be a great thing, but at the time I was furious, not in the least because of the 3d modelling I couldn’t do any more.
My only solace was that I still had my files.
Love the magazine, even without the extra polish.
The Ubnutu news is missing from the pdf. Or my okular reader is missing something?
Someone didn’t read my sob story at the top of the download page… 🙂
