Show Notes

0:52 | WELCOME and INTRO

1:43 | SINCE LAST TIME…

  • Dave – Tried the Picassa Linux client, which is very WINE-ey. Went to Opera. The musical performance, not the browser.
  • Ed – Left Facebook, appeared briefly on Google Latitude. Installed Windows XP on his netbook. Hmm.
  • Robin – Tweeting, updating the Natty 11.04 Alpha and got a bastardised Unity-Gnome panel desktop like Jeff Goldblum in “The Fly”. Installed DropBox. Got in touch with Hacker Public Radio.

16:51 | Opinion Firefox versus Chrome (-ium): what are we using, which is better?

33:24 | Opinion Gtalk and Text Editors.

35:48 | Contribute

36:20 | Review Pre-review of Amazon Kindle.

41:01 | Send us feedback: since Victoria continues to ask so nicely.

  • Attention all listeners! We need to show them some love – currently, they probably have no idea how much we appreciate the work they’re putting into this. So why not spend a minute or two on commenting? ;)

And to Rob, Ed & Dave: keep it up, I always enjoy listening to the podcasts. :)

  • Indeed I do love hearing the pods and side pods, all the way out here in the bush in Oz – thanks a million; mmmm these days I should say “thanks a trillion’, and so it is – TRILLION times I love your work!

  • I will offer my thanks, but I also want to disagree with the comment that security of Firefox Sync is bad. I understand it’s a sub-optimal user experience to use a passphrase, but as Firefox is syncing my passwords across computers, it’s nice to have that security.
